Okay first...its been a long while since any of us had made a thread, but this page definitely deserved a page for discussion........
THE FEELS!
The first panel of Linneus seeing his letters in the garbage is the first sign that Xanthe has put up his iron wall again. He held it up all his life so far to keep his feelings for Linneus out. When he finally caved in that night in the last chapter, Linneus turned him away. It WAS justifiable though. Linneus didnt feel right doing it when Xanthe was married and expecting a child. That of course, didnt sit well with Xanthe.
So, in my honest opinion, I find it near impossible for them to end up together at this rate. Yes, the comic is set to be 16 chapters but, you have to think of how much can Linneus put up with? He's loved Xanthe since day one and has forgiven him on all accounts. If he does sell Linny to Liard... I find it increasing hard for Linny to find a way for Xanthe to apologive for this. A fellow commenter on the TH site shared the exact same thoughts as me to which I loved her xD
Emily said a while back that Liard was set to come back for a short while.... that has me thinking that maybe Xanthe really is going to sell Linneus off. My mind goes to how hard Liard was on Linneus, thus go to maybe (if Liards buys Linneus) that he treats Linny so incredibly horrible that Xanthe buys him back, that would be something Linny would forgive Xanthe for. (mofo...my mind wanders too much)
But anywho, in reality...when it comes down to it... does anyone honestly think Xanthe is going to break off his marriage, disown his child and come out as gay and one who fell in love with a whore? My opinion, no. I think Linneus and Xanthe settle out in the end but dont get together... I think Linneus just ends up alone (unfortunately).
Yes, many people ship Linny with Gilder... but Emily also mentioned a while back that they wanted to do a spin off with gilder and sacha.. if that happened, then that would mean no Linneus... which would mean in Teahouse...Linneus doesnt end up with Gilder. Though I ship them because of the height different with the rugged/soft difference.
