Hmm... Well, perhaps a revolution is in order at some point? No need to worry about heirs then. Just being elected. XD
Anyway... Hmm... I agree with whoever here said Reed's sister or whatever she is probably doesn't go outside much.

Cut her half of her hair off and dye it a light shade of brown, and change the tone of her skin just a little, and you have the Teahouse version of my mother.

Dude, already, no one should be expecting/wanting Axis and Rhys to get married. Axis is a whore and a male; Rhys is a Royal and expected to give heirs. If they transcended those boundaries they set in the story, then the story would be utterly unashamedly unrealistic and I would lose my respect for it. Its a nice thought, but its not gonna happen.
Marriage does not equal love.
