Name:
Noel Duval
Age:
24
Picture:
Will follow soon. Hopefully.
Height:
Appearance:
Unlike most of the people in his ‘profession’, Noel doesn’t really put an emphasis on looking intimidating or memorable – he keeps his hair short and shaves of his facial hair, and also never really bothers to work out and gain more muscle than he actually needs to be quick and efficient. Even his clothes are rather plain, with the only ‘shiny’ thing being his sword and pistol. He always carries a dark bag, which no one is ever allowed to touch without having to fear for the safety of their fingers. Noel’s hair is a light reddish color, which has been bleached to strawberry blonde by the salty air and the sun. His eyes, framed by thick, dark lashes, are a mixture of blue, green and grey, very reminiscent of shallow water over white sand in their color. The sun has also brought out his freckles, which gather mostly on the top of his angular cheekbones and his nose. He rarely smiles, and risks getting permanent frown lines on his forehead because of his scowling expression. Around his neck, he carries a leather strap with a single gold coin attached to it, but rarely lets anyone see it. He doesn’t wear any jewelry aside from that.
Personality:
Noel is the quiet type, and doesn’t really let his crew mates get close to him – not only because he is not what he appears to be, but also because he doesn’t really know how to act around some of the rough, manly personalities usually found on a pirate ship. He tends to be rather sarcastic at times, and gets pissy very easily, but can also be a lot of fun when he’s in the right mood. He tries to concentrate on the task at hand, but has grown dissatisfied with the way things are – which especially makes him question where his loyalties lie. He isn’t really one for drinking orgies or making out with women he does not know, which does not mean that he doesn’t occasionally do it anyway; he also isn’t new to being hit on by men, especially the ones he is boarding with, since he is usually the most feminine of the crew members and women aren’t allowed on board. He treats this advances with cold rejections, and doesn’t react to them unless absolutely necessary.
Family:
Noel was brought up by his father after his mother died when giving birth to his little brother, but doesn’t have contact to any member of his family anymore.
Race:
Human
Motives:
He used to do his job out of patriotism and the need for money, but isn’t too sure about that anymore.
History:
Noel was raised with an idealistic view of the state, and was taught to hate pirates ever since he was little due to his father having close ties with the British Navy; this is why when he was old enough to work, he agreed to becoming a spy for the Navy and infiltrate pirate ships, giving his employers detailed information about their hidden fortresses, ports, and treasures; after a while of living in close quarters with those men, hearing their life stories and earning their trust only to rat them out afterwards, he doesn’t feel comfortable with his choice anymore and questions his former beliefs.
