Personality: To anyone who doesn't know him, Gareth can come off as intimidating, but he is really a caring man. He can be stern, but he is also gentle, and would do anything for those he cares about.
Family: Wife (deceased), daughter Lydia, and his nephew Ector, who is being held hostage by the new power.

Motives: He wants to somehow help the old ruling family back to the throne.
History: Gareth was a close friend to the former king, but once the northern lords took over everything changed. Gareth refused to bow to the new king, but he was not sent to his death because he was very influential in the kingdom; however, his nephew was taken hostage by the new power. Gareth has since retreated to his estate in the country with his daughter and a few servants.
